Head in the Clouds
‘Head in the Clouds’ collects my work from the past three years and is the first full-length album since I started No Time for Tapes in 2020. After releasing two EPs and a couple of singles, it felt like the right moment to explore something more cohesive.
To me, this album captures a sense of quiet observation of moments that pass softly but leave an impression. Many of the tracks were written in between things and over time: between seasons, between places, between thoughts.
It’s not a concept album in the strict sense, but there’s a recurring feeling of drifting, pausing, and noticing. The title reflects that state of mind, a little lost in thought, a little outside of time, but always with a positive perspective.
Many of the tracks are inspired by nature and our surroundings: birdsong, ambient outdoor sounds, changing light, and the seasons. Combining acoustic instruments, field recordings, and electronic textures, the album explores a sound that aims to feel calm but quietly evolving.
Track by Track
1. Time Flies (Intro)

‘Time Flies’ sets the tone for the album as a reflective and textured intro. Built around sped-up guitar fragments and soft ambient layers, the track captures the fleeting nature of time, how it can sometimes rush past almost unnoticed. It’s short and focused, like a moment of clarity before things unfold. For me, it marks the beginning of a journey through the following tracks of the album.
2. Bird Song

‘Bird Song’ is the second single of the album. It is a track about letting your mind take flight and drifting with the summer breeze. It blends playful rhythms and soft guitar melodies with bird recordings captured outside my window. To me, it reflects a curious and optimistic perspective – open, warm, and gently uplifting.
3. Stargazing

‘Stargazing’ shifts between movement and stillness, combining guitar-driven passages with bursts of acoustic drums and warm Rhodes textures. Midway, the track opens into a more ambient section, shaped by soft chords and beach field recordings. It’s inspired by the feeling of sitting by the ocean under a clear nightly sky. To me, it’s about being still while everything around you seems to keep moving.
4. Oak Tree

‘Oak Tree’ is a track about noticing change during seasons. It’s inspired by looking out the window in soft October light, watching a tree slowly shift in color. Bright ukulele melodies and rhythmic details bring a sense of movement, while piano and cello add a more reflective tone. Autumn is my favorite season, and with this track, I wanted to capture a bit of how it feels to me.
5. Rainy Days

‘Rainy Days’ is a track about the calm that comes with grey skies and pouring rain. Built around mellow guitar lines, soft hip hop–influenced drums, and atmospheric layers, it reflects the kind of quiet you feel when you're inside on a rainy afternoon in spring or autumn. To me, it’s about finding comfort in that in-between mood.
6. Bloom

‘Bloom’ is a mellow, atmospheric track inspired by the feeling of early spring. I used warm textures, soft electric piano and guitar, and subtle field recordings to create a sense of renewal and calm. It’s part of a seasonal concept of future releases. This track represents the quiet joy of noticing small changes in nature and our surroundings and taking the time to appreciate them.
7. Head in the Clouds

‘Head in the Clouds’ is the title track and also the fastest and most energetic track on the album. Driven by dynamic acoustic drums, a rhythmic bass line, and layered guitars and strings, it captures a more upbeat side of drifting off. For me, it’s about being open to the world around you, even when your mind wanders and appreciating the different ways we all perceive things.
8. Stargazing (Ambient Edit)

‘Stargazing (Ambient Edit)’ revisits the original track from a slower, more atmospheric angle. The percussion is removed, melodies are softened and lowered, and the arrangement is stretched into a deeper ambient space. While the mood remains the same, like sitting by the ocean under a clear nightly sky, this version gives more room to the melodic sounds and field recordings.
