Work in Progress
My debut EP – Work in Progress – is a compilation of tracks I wrote between 2018 and 2020. The EP combines guitar, bass and piano with synthesizers, sampling and field recordings.
1. Evolve
Although it is the intro to the EP, this track was actually the third track written for the project and I created it in early 2020. At first it consisted of the slow-paced loop you hear at the beginning. But it soon developed into a more upbeat, evolving endeavour.
2. Flight Space
On this track I was going for an overall energetic, yet still somewhat relaxed sound. The drums carry the track, and are actually two drum grooves layered on top of each other. The track was originally created in early 2019, and later found its place as track number two on the EP.
3. Rivers
This song was the first to be created for the EP, way back in the spring of 2018. Its overall sound and arrangement evolved a lot over time, and I finally settled on it just before the release. The track aims for a relaxed downtempo feeling, which is also supported by the field recordings of birds living near my apartment.
4. To Elle
This track captures uplifting and positive emotions. It was written around March/April 2020 and I dedicated it to my wife who is also involved in this project a lot in creating its visual identity. As such, this track is very special to me!
